Gunner, Country and I head into his office once I get back down from helping Stella get Jaggar upstairs. “Gunner, it’s been months since we’ve heard anything from Jamie and his posse. Something ain’t right, he was determined to get his hands on Cameron. Do we have any intel from our sources?”

“Pops and his men are searching for him now. He’s deep underground, someone’s hiding the pathetic fucker. He hasn’t been spotted on the reservation, it’s as if he disappeared into thin air. I don’t like it either.” Gunner has been wracking his brain trying to come up with a plan to force Jamie to show his face.

“I still don’t understand this whole, she was born during this time, on this day while the moon did this… yada, yada, yada,” Country says with a dumbfounded look.

“It’s some Native American prophecy or some shit,” Gunner says while running his hands through his hair.

“She can’t be the only woman born on the planet during that date and time, there has to be something more to it.” I just can’t put my finger on what it is. She’s some sort of sacrifice to their gods or some shit. I guess you have to be on the disturbed side of the spectrum to understand their mindset.”

“I’ll never understand sacrificing an innocent woman to some fucked up gods. If they require blood of a person, they aren’t worth worshiping,” Country says with disgust.

“I don’t like us being on the defensive end of things, we need to go on the offense and ruffle some feathers,” I state, ready to get these fuckers dealt with and buried six feet under. I have a kid and his mother to think about and protect. I won’t let either of them get caught in the crossfire of someone else's obsession.

“What do you propose we do?” Gunner asks, his attention solely on me.

“I say we hit him where it hurts the most,” I announce.

“The reservation?” Country asks me.

“The reservation,” I agree. “It’s where his family resides, and that man is obsessed with that land and the people there.”

“Do we burn it?” Country inquires.

“To the ground, brother,” I menacingly chuckle.

“That’s a lot of firepower we’ll need,” Gunner states. “Do we have that kind of material in our arsenal?”

“Nope, but we know who does,” I stare at him as I say this.

“Pops.”
